Position Summary:

This position is responsible for working with the outside Regional Sales Managers and North American Sales Manager to provide support in ensuring that business plan targets are met or exceeded. Maintaining established relationships with existing customers while simultaneously generating opportunities for new business growth through development of prospects, customers and penetrating target markets as assigned is an integral part of this assignment. Generates leads by various sources, and makes calls on known or suspected consumers of lubrication systems and equipment in a continuous effort to increase contacts with decision makers, while making recommendations for appropriate use of products and services. Provides timely feedback to Sales and Marketing Management on all aspects of the business. Represents the company and its stakeholders, including owners, employees and the communities in which BDI and IMCI operates, in a manner consistent with the highest level of professionalism, integrity and ethics.

Sales Manager, North America

 

Supervisory Responsibilities:

 None at this time.

 

Education and/or Experience Requirements:

Associates Degree or higher in Business or Marketing or comparable education/experience is preferred. Consideration will be given to individuals who demonstrate proven knowledge of internal sales acumen and have a minimum of 3 years’ prior experience in a related position. Manufacturing experience is highly desired.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Responsibilities will include but not be limited too-

 

  • Develop an in-depth knowledge of Bijur Delimon’s core products via successful completion of required sales training program, and utilize this knowledge to successfully sell Bijur Delimon products.
  • Generate sales leads utilizing market research within target markets.
  • Qualify sales leads with initial contact; primarily by phone or email.
  • Provide data and reports to support the outside sales team.
  • Distribute qualified leads to the outside sales team.
  • Keep track of all leads generated and contacted.
  • Follow up on outstanding quotations.
  • Generate and distribute thank you phone calls and/or written communications to valued customers after significant orders are processed.
  • Direct contact with existing customers whom have not done any recent business and determine cause.
  • As an integral member of the sales and marketing team, participate in and provide feedback in planning, preparing and formulating annual strategic sales plans.
  • Provides BDI Management with competitive feedback having major domestic or international consequences to the company.
  • Provides BDI Management with Regional prospect / customer activity information having major domestic or international significance to the company.
  • Promptly provides Quality Management with accurate and complete information pertaining to any and all prospect or customer complaints stemming from dissatisfaction with BDI, its products or processes, in order to facilitate accurate root cause analysis and resolution.
  • Represents the company at regional, national and international trade shows and exhibits.
  • Other duties as assigned

 

Other Desirable Skills / Attributes:

  • Experience in manufacturing setting strongly preferred.
  • Proven skill set and demonstrated ability to repeatedly contact prospects and customers via phone, internet, e-mail and in person for the purpose of generating leads and/or sales.
  • Strong ability to work independently as a self-starter and work within a team.
  • Competency in and understanding of the workings and functionality of industrial machinery and their controls; e.g. machine tools, plastics machinery, conveyors, metalworking equipment, mechanical drives and related systems.
  • Above average technical writing / written communication / presentation skills are essential.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in MS Office Suite 2010 in preparing various communications.
  • Consistently demonstrates solid work ethic and commitment to personal and professional development as a sales professional.
  • Must be a good listener and have the ability to effectively deal with people at all levels.

 

Travel Requirements:

Infrequent overnight domestic travel is expected when business situation warrant it. Periodic international travel may be required for purposes of training and/or joint presentations at the discretion of the company.
