The Construction Billing Administrator:

Works closely with Large Construction Project Managers to ensure the accurate and timely collection of billing to maximize project profitability.

Principal Duties and Accountabilities:   

  • Prepare customer invoices utilizing accounting system, and ensure that job costs are appropriately identified and billed and contractual billing rules are adhered to.
  • Assist Project Management staff with job set ups, including budgets and cost codes.
  • Identify billing and job cost issues as they arise, and make recommendations to increase process efficiencies through consistent communication with supervisor and team.
  • Monitor billing and cash position status on all projects billed.
  • Regularly communicate with Project Management staff to resolve issues and keep them informed of the status of billing.
  • Assist with lien waiver process, other customer requested documents and account collection efforts, as needed.
  • Obtain full understanding of accounting system (SAMPro and DBAnalytics), provide information therefrom to Project Management staff as needed, and periodically train Project Staff and team members on how to optimize their user experience. 
  • Electronically maintain documentation and information, such as customer contracts, change orders, etc.
  • Fully understand and apply relevant sales and use tax rules to fully leverage toward project profitability.
  • Assist with periodic job cost and billing transfers, reconciliations and audits, as needed.
  • Such other duties as may be assigned from time to time by supervisor.

 

Job Scope: 

This position will be primarily responsible for performing the Principal Duties and Accountabilities specified above for the Large Construction operation in the Rocky Mountain Region of U.S. Engineering Company, though this position may perform similar duties for other operational groups within the company.  Specific tasks will depend upon regional operational needs and may focus more heavily on certain functions.

 

Management Responsibility:  

Individual Contributor with no subordinates. 

 

Education Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Bachelor degree in Accounting is preferred.

 

Professional Experience

  • Minimum of three (3) years of relevant professional experience is required including data entry, operations, billing, accounting administration.
  • Experience working with an accounting system is required.
  • Proficiency in Excel is required.
  • Experience within a construction environment, service or related industry is preferred.

Physical and/or Travel Demands

  • No travel required.
  • Work is performed in a typical office environment that will enable comfortable sitting, but may also require standing, occasional bending, reaching, stooping, and lifting light objects.    Position involves keyboarding, use of computer monitor, and use of telephone.
