Job Description

Purpose:

ENE Systems is looking for an experienced lead technician for the implementation of commercial access control and video systems in the Boston area. Candidate must have experience in all aspects of security projects from implementation to programming and troubleshooting. Candidate must be comfortable communicating with customers, subcontractors and other technicians. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office programs such as Word and Excel. Candidate must understand IP Networking essentials and be comfortable assigning IP addresses, setting up basic networks and configuring network switches.

 

 

Education and Training:

  • 2 year technical degree or equivalent work experience required
  • 5 years experience in the implementation and/ or service of electronic security systems
  • Must be well versed in different access control and VMS systems with systems certifications
  • Massachusetts Class D electrical license
  • Ability to pass a CORI check to obtain Public Safety Certificate of Clearance

 

Occupation Specific Tasks:

  • Works with the Project Manager to oversee the installation of systems by multiple subcontractors ensuring jobs stay on track and within budget
  • Coordinates with other trades and subcontractors to ensure requirements are communicated and understood.
  • Able to communicate technical information both orally and in writing. Able to clearly describe project needs to Project Manager and service team.
  • Knowledge of circuit boards, processors, chips, electronic equipment, and computer hardware and software, including applications and programming.
  • Connecting and configuring electric door locking devices including electric strikes, panic bars, magnetic locks or other locking devices.
  • Knowledge of building code requirements regarding electric locking devices
  • Adjust sensitivity of devices based on manufacturers' recommendations, using programming keypads or computer software.
  • Demonstrate systems for customers and explain details such as the causes and consequences of false alarms.
  • Train end users on system use and programming
  • Able to work on ladders, lifts, and bucket trucks to repair and troubleshoot devices.
  • Service, maintain, or repair security systems, alarm devices, and related equipment, following blueprints and building plans.
  • Mount and fasten control panels, card readers, door and window contacts, sensors, and video cameras, and connect to head end equipment.
  • Prepare project documents such as punch lists, commissioning sheets, and as built documentation
  • Responsible for complete closeout and turn over of jobs to client and service dept
