Overseas position located on Kwajalein Atoll, Marshall Islands.

Duties:

  • Manage a mobile crane fleet consisting of a barge mounted 165-ton lattice boom crawler, three rough terrain telescopic boom cranes (45 to 65-ton) and associated personnel; crane operators, lift directors, riggers and signalmen
  • Ensure land based and barge mounted crane and rigging operations are conducted in accordance with applicable OSHA, ASME and US Army safety standards
  • Exercise supervisory control over all crane and rigging operations
  • Supervise crane operators, riggers and crane crew members
  • Ensure crane operators, lift directors, riggers signalmen and crane crew members are qualified for the duties assigned
  • Schedule and coordinate crane operations (and maintenance) with other jobsite activities
  • Ensure cranes meet daily, monthly and annual crane inspection requirements
  • Ensure adverse conditions such as; poor soils, wind, lightning, heavy rain, powerlines and other obstructions are addressed.
  • Ensure sea conditions and barge stability are addressed for barge mounted crane operations
  • Prepare lift plans including critical lift plans
  • Prepare rigging plans
  • Permit critical lifts only after approval has been received from the Contracting Officer
  • Ensure rigging gear is properly inspected, maintained and stored
  • Oversee monthly crane inspections
  • Perform annual crane inspections
  • Provide Crane Safety and Rigging training
  • Qualifications:
    • 5 Years’ experience in management of crane and rigging operations, lift planning and supervision of personnel.
    • Barge experience required
    • Qualified Rigger (NCCCO or equivalent a plus)
    • Qualified Lift Director (NCCCO or equivalent a plus)
    • Qualified Critical Lift Planner (documented training a plus)
    • Qualified Crane Inspector (NCCCO or equivalent a plus)
    • Qualified Crane Operator (not required, but a plus)

    Comments:
    Willingness to work on a remote tropical island for a minimum of one year. Company paid housing, meals, and transportation. Compensation dependent on experience and qualifications. Must have a US passport, or the ability to obtain one.
