Tooling Engineer

ROLE:

The P2/3 Tooling Engineer will work with the layout department, production personnel, customers and tooling shops for tooling improvements. This engineer will assist and review layout operations and results and make corrections. This engineer will use the scanner to check tooling to core fit and make corrections.

Education:

Preferred Bachelors/ Technical Degree in Engineering or Related Field or Equivalent OJ Experience.

A qualified applicant should be a good team player and possess the following:

  • Excellent problem solving and interpersonal communication skills
  • High attention to detail and organization
  • Skilled in blueprint reading
  • Knowledge of GD&T practices and principles
  • Understanding of coreboxes, cores, molding tooling, and their relationship to the finished product
  • Strong computer skills including:
    • CAD software (2+ years of experience)
      • Power Shape
      • Auto CAD
      • Pro-E/ Creo
    • Must understand different file types (IGS, XT, STL, etc.) and be able to use them accordingly for downstream use in multiple applications.
    • Will assist in the operation and review of results from hard probes as well as laser scanning.
    • Use Excel for calculations and charting
