Sanders Brothers Construction Company is currently looking to hire full time support in our Surveying Department.

 

Roles and Responsibilities

The global positioning system manager will be responsible for procuring, maintaining and developing training criteria on industry specific software used by Sanders Brothers Construction

  • Reports directly to the survey department manager.
  • Ability to create 3D job models.
  • Technical support for GPS software and equipment.
  • Acquisition, maintain, and repair of specialized industry equipment and software.
  • Develops and manages training programs to promote employee growth.
  • Applies technical knowledge to keep company up to date with new software and technical equipment involved in the construction industry.
  • Ability to identify site specific critical areas proactively involving sites SBC is managing.
  • Comply with all SBCC policies, procedures and safety requirements.
  • Perform any other general duties as specified.
  • Working in varying weather conditions.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • Ability to perform and train requirements needed for selected employee developmental areas.
  • Proficient in industry related software and specialized equipment.
  • Experience in construction related methods and procedures used to develop commercial, residential and industrial sites.
  • Bachelor’s degree and licensed surveyor is preferred.
  • Must obtain a negative drug test result prior to hire and maintain throughout term of employment.
  • Must meet SBCC's employment standards with regards to background checks.
  • Ability to exert up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 40 pounds of force regularly to move objects.
  • Must have the ability to stand/sit for long periods of time.
  • Flexible availability to include work hours needed to meet schedule; including nights, and weekends..
  • Work environments will vary making it necessary to tolerate weather conditions, such as rain and extreme temperatures. Employees may be exposed to dust, dirt, varying temperatures, loud noises, etc.
  • Must have a Valid Driver’s License and provide 3-year motor vehicle record which meets the minimum operating standards in accordance with SBCC vehicle operation policy.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with all types of individuals involved in construction projects.
  • Capable of interpreting and gather information from construction software, specifications, plan views, and details involved with various types of construction plans. Including, not limited to commercial, DOT, and residential.
  • Demonstrates a proactive standard in regards to management of personnel and equipment
  • Proficient with CAD and other surveying data systems
  • Proficient with Topcon surveying devices and machine controls
