CURRENT OPPORTUNITY:  Engineer - Software and Controls

FANUC America Corporation provides the most complete range of industry-leading robotics, CNC and motion control systems, and ROBODRILL machining centers. Our innovative technologies and proven expertise help manufacturers in the Americas to be more efficient, reliable and profitable. We are currently searching for a dynamic, self-starter Software and Controls Engineer to manage, organize and administer high level software & controls expertise while assisting FANUC District Managers with various sales support requests to enable continued regional unit and profit growth. Primary responsibilities will include: 

  • Develop, train and strengthen technical skills with customers (Authorized System Integrator’s (ASI) and End-Users) in the Northeast region as well as act as a technical liaison between customers, Regional Office and HQ facilities.
  • Identify and visit key, new, or competitor ASI accounts in the region. Spending time and building relationships with engineering, management and ownership.
  • Develop a deep understanding of the ASI’s products, customers, goals, organization and business strategies.
  • Promote the use of Roboguide, Payload Checker and other pre-engineering tools.
  • Schedule in-person presentations and technical reviews of the applicable hardware and software options that match the ASI’s needs.
  • Spending time and building relationships with engineering, management and ownership.
  • Available for joint sales/support calls as organized by local DM’s
  • Work with all customers to address issues associated with the setup and integration of both common and higher end robot options such as auxiliary axis packages, iRvision, Force Sensing, Line Tracking, Pick Tool, etc. 

Ideal candidate will have the following experience and education: 

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical, Mechanical or related engineering discipline
  • Travel will be up to 70% throughout the Northeast US states.
  • Minimum five years of experience with FANUC robot product solutions
  • Highly proficient with HandlingTool, iRVision, PickTool, Roboguide, DCS, etc.
  • Understanding of standard electrical codes, such as NEC, IEEE, NEMA, ANSI, NFPA, etc.
