Position Description:
Urban seeks a senior construction inspector with knowledge and experience in structural steel construction, including fabrication, erection, welding and bolting. The candidate will be responsible for performing and managing the inspection of major complex projects for public clients, such as the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey. This position will be responsible for performing or witnessing structural steel inspections on New York City aviation construction projects; including roadways, bridges, terminals, substations and parking facilities. Candidate will be required to prepare reports on inspection activities, file documentation and complete required Technical Report forms in accordance with New York City Building Codes and PANYNJ Tenant Alteration Agreements. The candidate will be responsible for supervising inspection teams, including review of technical performance, scheduling of inspection activities and client relations.

Job Requirements:
The ideal candidate should have 10 years relevant experience as a construction or special inspector on progressively complex infrastructure/building/facility projects, preferably in New York City. Candidate must have a High School diploma; a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Architecture is desirable. Candidate should have the following certifications and/or be able to obtain them within three months of hire; ICC Structural Steel and Bolting; ICC Structural Welding; and AWS-CWI. Candidate shall be familiar with NYC DOB Energy Code. Candidate must possess excellent written and oral communication skills. #LI-ST1
