As a Distributor Operator on our team, you will be a member of a paving crew and operate the distibutor to apply tack to the surface being paved.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Operates distributor safely to apply tack according to paving specifications.
- Prepares distributor and continuously monitors performance to achieve the required specifications for paving.
- Works closely with other crew members using hand signals to coordinate work and ensure safety.
- Performs daily inspection and maintenance and ensures that distributor is in safe, proper working order including fluid checks and proper lubrication.
- Reports to shop when distributor needs maintenance and repair.
- Keeps equipment clean and prepares equipment for transport on flatbed when needed.
- Maintains orderliness, cleanliness and safety at jobsite.
- Follows Supervisor’s instructions closely.
- Skills and Abilities:
- Understand basics of distributor mechanicals.
- Understand and adhere to all safety regulations.
- Understand and adhere to the Personal Protection Equipment requirements.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or Equivalent.
- CDL A with tanker and hazmat endorsements
- Current DOT health card
Work Environment/Physical Demands:
- Effectively handle lifting of various objects weighing up to 80 pounds.
- Walk, bend, kneel, lift, stretch and sit.
- Work extended hours out of doors in a variety of weather conditions.
- Travel and some Saturday work are required.
