Job Description

Our company has engaged a major new client which will involve managing an AWS environment. We are looking for a System Engineer with knowledge of Amazon Web Services (AWS) to perform the technical tasks necessary for this effort. This not a DevOps role, candidate will be focused on system administrator responsibilities.

Location

Candidate will be required to work on site in our Indianapolis IN office. 

Essential Functions:
• Utilization of AWS Cloud platforms, EC2, EBS, S3, VPC, RDS, SES, ELB, AutoScaling, CloudFront, CloudFormation, ElasticCache, CloudWatch, Subnets, Routing tables, Internet gateways, SNS, DynamoDB, AWS Import/Export and VPC peering
• Install and configure patch management systems that deploy patches in an automated fashion
• Design, install, maintain, and troubleshoot SUSE cloud based virtual machines
• Configure AWS backup jobs utilizing EBS, Lambda, S3 and Glacier services.
• Monitor and maintain system configurations utilizing Amazon AMI services in conjunction with Amazon CloudFormation
• Monitor system availability and resource consumption of EC2 instances using CoudWatch
• Design and implement security related controls through SALT and AWS services

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience working in the Information Technology field
• 4+ years’ experience with Windows Systems Administration
• 3+ years’ experience with AWS and related tools
• AWS Certification preferred
• Experience with large server farm administration and design
