Summary

A procurement specialist will be responsible for overseeing and executing the complete task of finding, negotiating price, and specifications for all lighting products as assigned by the Procurement Director. This will be accomplished through effectively and efficiently managing all company assets and employees that are assigned.

 

Typical Duties:

  • Communicate with all vendors and ensure orders are to specs and pricing as required.
  • Track orders and ensure landed product was as ordered and on time.
  • Work with the warehouse personnel to track inventory and create reports as required.
  • Work with accounting to create and track PI’s for overseas purchases.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service to each client.
  • Work with install teams to find and purchase special products as needed.
  • Create new product part numbers in Quickbooks, spec sheets, and coordinate with snap count team for data updates.
  • Help to implement and maintain a product barcoding and tracking system.
  • Update Procurement Director on status of all projects.
  • Be willing to do light travel and work extended hours as required.
  • Attend team meetings as required.
  • Other responsibilities as required.

Qualifications

  • 5 to 7 years of prior Procurement experience.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and QuickBooks.
  • Experience in all areas of finding, purchasing, and tracking orders.
  • Full knowledge of commercial lighting and electrical materials.
  • Must have ability to multitask and manage multiple projects at one time.
  • Must be self-motivated and well-disciplined.
  • High School Diploma/GED or Technical degree preferred.

Physical demands:

  • Ability to continuously sit, stand or walk.
  • Ability to bend, squat, climb stairs and lift frequently
  • Ability to lift-up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to work in heat or cold, work outside, work in high elevations

Work environment:

  • Office, cubicle or work station, Job trailer, warehouse or industrial setting
