We are currently seeking an experienced mechanic to join our Utility Lines Construction Services, LLC. team. Our office headquarters is located in Dundalk, MD.

Our Traveling Mechanic must have a valid Driver’s License in good standing.  A Commercial Driver’s License is a plus. Must have experience as a mechanic. Must be able to travel. Compensation is based upon experience. Average work week is four 10-hour days. Overtime is on an as needed basis for the projects we are supporting.

 

Essential Functions:

  • Actively works within the business to improve fleet performance.
  • Promotes safety requirements associated with this position.
  • Ability to troubleshoot (with laptop computer), diagnose, understand service manuals, and read schematics.
  • Completes records of repairs and notifies proper parties.
  • Performs maintenance on bucket trucks, booms trucks drill rigs and digger derricks along with other equipment and vehicles.
  • Demonstrates precision measurement skills, proper lubrication practices and 12/24 volt troubleshooting.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and repair mobile equipment hydraulic systems.
  • Provide emergency repair services to fleet for construction equipment.
  • Performs scheduled preventative maintenance activities on equipment.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Performs DOT inspections.

 

Minimum Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience maintaining heavy mobile equipment.
  • Experience with performing DOT inspections
  • High School Diploma/GED preferred, or vocational training preferred.
  • Must be able to work long hours and overtime during holidays, emergencies, weekends, etc. Subject to call out work.
  • Must be able to wear PPE as necessary.
  • Must be able to maintain attention during dangerous tasks.
  • Must have a valid Driver’s License and medical DOT card.
  • Must pass a background check and pass a motor vehicle records check
