Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Electrical Distribution Staking Technician to work at our Falcon Operations Center, located at the eastern edge of beautiful Colorado Springs.  This position performs a variety of engineering tasks, including, but not limited to designing construction and retirement of the co-op's electric distribution system.

Job Responsibilities

  •  Responsible for single and three-phase designs of overhead and underground electric distribution systems for commercial and residential areas.
  •  Good understanding of electric distribution systems.
  •  Experience with Microsoft Office and engineering software.
  •  Ability to read, interpret and understand construction specifications, easements and legal descriptions.
  •  Research and obtain easements, rights-of-way, and statements of authority as required.

Job Requirements

  • Must be a self-motivated individual with a high level of accuracy and the ability to analyze details.
  • Responsible for project management duties to ensure timely and accurate preparation of designs, staking sheets and cost estimates.
  • Candidates must have the ability to interpret a variety of technical instruction in mathematical or diagram form and deal with abstract and concrete variables. 
  • Applicants must have four years of field experience designing and staking single and three-phase distribution systems with an electric utility.
  • Ability to react to change productively and to handle a high workload.
  • Ability to use an electronic digital transit, a measuring wheel, and metal detector.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, and strong math skills.
  • High school graduate or equivalent.  Associates degree in related field preferred.
