COMPENSATION: $80K base salary (DOE) plus eligibility for performance bonus up to 25%

EDUCATION: TDLR Journeyman License or above

EXPERIENCE: 5+ Years required

The Plumbing Service Manager (PSM) role will support a group of field service plumbers (approximately 12 technicians). This is a uniformed position and the manager will be expected to spend almost all of their time in the field.  The PSM will be responsible for the sales and quality control of their group. The PSM will also be responsible for granting time off requests but prior to granting such requests will consult with the other PSM and the Plumbing Ops Manager to ensure minimum staffing levels are maintained.

 

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Meet regularly with your team (weekly is preferred) to address issues/challenges, give information and build the team
  • Monitor the sales performance of your team and identify coaching/training needs as necessary 
  • Monitor callbacks, perform “root-cause” analysis and identify weaknesses in job performance to coach/train team on efficiency and effectiveness
  • Work with the designated dispatcher to set the “job board” daily based on technician capabilities, skills, availability
  • Review work orders daily checking for efficiency, materials usage and reasonableness of work performed.  Manage material purchases from internal and external suppliers
  • Work with plumbing operations manager to identify, establish, and carry out all training needs for the group
  • Monitor and evaluate the overall morale of the team.  Propose team-building events and help to identify solutions for greater morale and team retention
  • Monitor and manage overtime hours of the assigned team, approving time sheets weekly. Calculate technician bonuses and spiffs
  • Perform all coaching, counseling, and disciplinary actions with the guidance of the Plumbing Operations Manager and Human Resources 
  • Identify recruiting needs and work with Human Resources to recruit and screen team members
  • Conduct estimates, and site visits as needed
  • Check install forms for accuracy and clarity, verify material requests for all installs to ensure smooth installations with proper material
  • Schedule daily installs and provide feedback to overcome on-site issues during installs
  • Coordinate any subcontractors, equipment needed, and excavation/inspection/back fill scheduling
  • Field visits with installers and technicians to help diagnose, troubleshoot complicate plumbing issues and provide viable solutions
  • Address and resolve customer issues same day, but not to exceed 24 hours
  • Be available to your team for coaching/discussion at all times, provide technical support
  • Inspect technicians and vehicles regularly for appearance and cleanliness

Qualifications and Skills

  • Licensed Plumber with a Minimum of 5 years’ experience in Plumbing Operations.   
  • Good interpersonal, written and oral communication skills.
  • Will be required to work some weekends (Saturdays) and be available at all times when team is in the field.
  • Computer, communication and strong interpersonal skills are a must.
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Must be 21 or over
  • Familiarity with iPhone and iPad
  • Valid TX Driver’s License
  • Must be able to pass background test and drug screen
  • Other duties as determined by management.
