Primary Purpose of the Position:

Quality Assurance Specialist is responsible for assistance in various quality improvement initiatives.  The Quality Assurance Support will work closely with the Quality Assurance Manager to support the functional operation and administration of the Quality Program within asTech along with other quality initiatives. The primary purpose of this position is to provide support in ensuring the overall quality of asTech deliverables

Essential Functions

  • Follow procedures for ensuring quality and consistency within asTech products and services.
  • Report identified areas of quality deficiencies and cooperate closely with the Quality Assurance Manager
  • Review current standards and policies to ensure they are adequate and up to date.
  • Keep records of quality reports, reviews and relevant documentation
  • Communicate with Quality Assurance Manager
  • Submit scheduled detailed reports to manager as well as case reports when required
  • Research necessary materials for understanding and validation needs
  • Hands on quality role directly interfacing with asTech reports, processes and procedures.
  • Conduct audits of documents such as, but not limited to, asTech Reports and standard operating procedures
  • Assist in internal audits to assess conformity to company procedures and practices
  • Distribute documentation to staff.
  • Assist the operations personnel in validation and revalidation processes and approved protocols.

  • Basic understanding of automotive mechanical systems and relating diagnostic trouble codes

  • Understanding of the asTech reporting process
  • Effective Communication skills

 

Reports to:  Quality Assurance Manager in Plano, TX

Supervisory Responsibility:  This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

 

FLSA Status:  This position is non-exempt.

 

Work Environment: This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as laptop computers, software and phones.  May include trips to field operations in a mobile / vehicle environment.

 

Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

  • This is largely a sedentary role; however, some testing of devices on vehicles may be required. This may include walking to the testing bay area, plugging a testing device in the interior of the vehicle.  Physical requirements include occasional lifting/carrying of 5 pounds; visual acuity, speech and hearing; hand and eye coordination and manual dexterity necessary to operate a computer keyboard and basic office equipment. Subject to sitting, standing, reaching, walking, twisting, and kneeling to perform the essential functions. Working conditions are primarily inside an office environment with limited exposure to customer repair facilities and vendor sites.

Travel:  Travel is expected to be less than 10% for this position.
