Job Summary 

The Traffic Control Foreman is a member of the operations team and is responsible for implementing the traffic control plan as designed and detailed by a registered engineer. The Traffic Control Foreman would schedule crews and equipment, order materials and coordinate with subcontractors. This position requires the need for flexibility to remain on call 24/7 to assist with traffic situations as they occur.

 Essential Functions

  • Communicating and working with craft supervision, owners, vendors, subcontractors and members of the project team.
  • Plans, organizes and supervises all equipment and materials needed to set-up, take down, maintain traffic control, and handle traffic-related situations.
  • Contract administration and cost control
  • Problem solving
  • Five years of experience planning, organizing and supervising all equipment and materials needed to set-up, take down, maintain traffic control, and handle traffic-related situations is required.
  • Two years of which were at the lead level or an equivalent combination of closely related training and experience.
  • Must be able to understand work directions and communicate effectively with management and fellow employees.
  • Project scheduling
  • Control and allocate available resources; prioritize projects on the basis of greatest need and monitor budget to allow maximum utilization of resources.
  • Budget and crew rate review
  • Submittal of time sheets.

  • 5 -10 years previous heavy highway construction management experience
  • Medium to Large project experience ($50M+) is required
