Project Superintendent Concrete
Due to our recent growth, Donley's Concrete Group is seeking an experienced Project Superintendent to assist with projects out of our Raleigh, North Carolina office.
Typical Responsibilities Will Include:
- Project safety implementation and management in accordance with Donley's Safety Program.
- Safety Audit Process - walk the jobsite and discuss with field personnel what we can be doing to make the job sites safer.
- Develop Site Specific Safety Plans with Regional Safety Manager and review monthly with project teams and Safety Manager.
- Assist estimators and attend bid review meetings; establish project logistic plan and constructability reviews, as assigned by PM, PX or VP.
- Prepare, review, update and analyze project schedules on a regular basis with subcontractors, vendors, and project manager; communicate any schedule changes or adjustments to appropriate parties.
- Monitor site production goals schedules; assist in monitoring and achieving EEO goals.
- Conduct jobsite orientations and prepare new hire paperwork.
- Review subcontractor billings with project management.
- Recruiting, scheduling, training, promotion, layoff and discipline of field personnel.
- Assist PM in preparation of job costs.
- Review change management requests and issues with PM.
- Assist PM with budget and contract changes.
- Initiate 6 week schedules; track project milestone dates.
- Review Foremen's Weekly Planners with General Foremen and/or Foremen.
- Initiate 5 minute huddles every morning delegating as necessary to foremen to discuss current issues, safety, schedule, feedback, concerns and ideas.
- Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, vendors and craft to meet project schedules.
- Complete daily project reports, Concrete Log, and On Site Personnel Summary Report.
- Review Productivity Reports weekly with Concrete General Superintendent and Project Manager during the weekly concrete meeting
- Perform and/or verify punch list item accuracy to ensure timely completion.
- Selection of proper equipment and methods for projects in conjunction with PM.
- Inspection of work in place, including shoring, placing, steel reinforcing, post-tensioning and all other items for compliance with project specifications. Perform Pre-Pour/CLEER process checklists for all major pours.
- Assist estimating department with value engineering and identify structural changes in bid documents.
- Develop and refine form systems; coordinate form system designs and design changes with field and engineering personnel.
- Involvement in trade organizations, associations and community groups to develop and maintain positive relations and potential leads with prospective clients.
- Must be able to Travel
To be successful as a Project Superintendent, you will need:
- At least five (5) years of progressively responsible roles in construction and construction management on commercial projects; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Strong oral communication skills; ability to communicate with all levels, both internally and externally.
- Well-developed analytical and problem solving abilities.
- Able to organize work, engage in a variety of tasks simultaneously and consistently meet deadlines.
- Able to perform duties independently.
- Strong attention to detail.
