APi Construction Company (APiCC) is a nationally known specialty contractor focusing on mechanical insulation & metal coverings, industrial siding, and scaffolding in heavy industries. APiCC is seeking qualified candidates for a Business Development position. This position will focus on regional and national accounts from coast to coast in the power and energy sector. The selected candidate will be mentored by the Manager and Director of Business Development to further develop the candidates' skills and industry knowledge. This position will office at our New Brighton, MN location.
The primary objective of this position is to gain knowledge of the marketplace and business conditions, maintain client relationships, and support content that interfaces with our clients and positively influences our company's image. This is an inside sales position: the ability to persuade people and an aggressive desire to win are a must.
REQUIRED qualifications for this position include:
- Degree in business, engineering, or construction management; and/or Sales Experience
- Solid communications skills, oral, written and presentation
- Proven relationship-building skills
- Strong time management skills with the ability to self-intitiate
- A demonstrated enthusiasm and determination to develop business
- Ability to quickly assimilate technical concepts and information
- Passion for working as a member of a team
- Advanced computer skills; must be proficient using MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, etc.) and Adobe Acrobat
- Knowledge of industry or construction is a plus
- 5% travel years 0-2, 15% travel thereafter
Responsibilities will include:
- Collect business intelligence, identify and target the most attractive opportunities
- Establishing and developing relationships with clients. Primarily via phone, email, and online platforms
- Continual participation in the improvement of company processes
- Follow-up on all outstanding proposals and solicit quantitative and qualitative feedback on all proposals
- Gather information about the job leads, qualify opportunities, identify key personnel, establish bidder pre-qualification and business relations regarding the project
- Create client awareness for APiCC and our multiple service offerings
- Respond to client's request for information about our company (may include drafting letters, develop print media, and/or create high impact PowerPoint presentations)
