Summary: You will be reporting to the General Manager and will be accountable for all operational aspects managing department staff leads in: 

  • Customer Service Lead
  • Vehicle Maintenance & Driver Lead
  • Warehouse and Yard Lead

Essential job Responsibilities:

  • You will be responsible for providing same day or next day delivery utilizing in-house drivers and fleet
  • Assign and schedule operational duties, tasks and responsibilities for direct reports
  • You will be responsible for hiring, training, and developing staff and direct reports
  • Ensure customer service team is performing to company standards in all aspects
  • Maintain product preparedness, product quality and inventory control
  • Effectively communicate with department leads while working in a fast-paced environment
  • You will verbally convey departmental processes and company polices in a group setting with the exclusive purpose of setting clear expectations and goals
  • You will maintain safety standards for facility and vehicles with an uncompromising demeanor
  • Other duties as assigned

Physical demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to outside weather conditions. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; moving mechanical parts; high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; extreme cold; extreme heat; and risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is moderate.

  • Must be a self-motivated individual with ability to build leadership and teamwork within department
  • Demonstrates exceptionally strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Able to plan, delegate and deliver instructions in an oral and written format
  • Must have the ability to analyze, reason and implement strategies for problem solving
  • Ability to use a computer with a proficiency in Microsoft programs including but not limited to Word, Excel, and outlook

Experience, License, Education and/or Training:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required
  • Must have a clean DMV record and valid class C license
  • Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in running a fast-paced customer focused small to mid-size company in the capacity of an Operational Manager, including driver management, fleet maintenance, dispatch, logistics, and inventory management
  • Minimum 2-3 years’ experience supervising customer service personnel responsible for account set up, order entry, A/R and billing duties
  • Must have an understanding of DOT compliance, Federal, State, and Local regulation entities
  • Outside Sales experience is a plus but not required
  • Construction industry experience and/or equipment rental industry is desired, but not required,  will train the right candidate
