Special-Lite manufactures engineered architectural products, which includes commercial entrance systems, interior aluminum (Type II) framing with swing or sliding aluminum framed doors, and FRP restroom partitions. Our interior and exterior complete entrance system products are fiberglass or aluminum flush doors with many door face texture options including wood grain, aluminum monumental (stile & rail) doors, fiberglass and aluminum framing. Our engineered, made to order architectural products are used in new construction and renovation projects for educational, commercial, institutional, industrial and municipal applications. The company was founded in 1971 and pioneered the use of fiberglass reinforced polyester (FRP) material for door skins in the early 1980's, and today is the largest volume producer of commercial FRP doors in the United States

Position Summary: The Inside Sales Support Associate serves as the primary liaison between customers and Sales Representatives by providing administrative sales support, resolving questions, requests and issues in a timely manner. This position is responsible for entering sales quotes and ensures for accuracy and completeness of the information entered into the system.

  • Provides quotes to dealer distribution partners and independent representative network within a 24-72-hour response-window.
  • Responds to customer and Sales Representatives’ questions and requests in a timely manner by determining the answer or escalating to the appropriate resource; maintains ownership of all follow-up communication from escalated inquiries.
  • Serves as the day-to-day direct contact between Special-Lite and the Independent Rep Groups and dealer distribution partners and their respective sales teams.
  • Takes action to deliver superior customer service by developing positive relationships and interactions with both internal and external customers.
  • Researches product requests for customers to obtain cost; obtains freight costs, when applicable.
  • Supports the customer service policies, procedures and standards; complies with and maintains knowledge of applicable guidelines, regulations, and best practices.
  • Ensures all customer service activities support and strengthen the strategic objectives of the overall organization.
  • Continuously works to develop and maintain a high level of product and service knowledge.
  • Investigates and communicates effectively with all internal departments that are involved with and/or affected by sales processes from the infancy to product shipment stages.
  • Promotes transparency and champions strong multi-directional communication throughout the organization.

Position Requirements: 

  • High school diploma or GED is required.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of customer service experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Proven communication, interpersonal and problem resolution skills.
  • Ability to exercise active listening, analytical thinking, considerable judgment and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to deliver to a very high standard in an environment of rapid change and ambiguity.
  • Ability to multi-task without sacrificing quality.
  • Excellent data entry skills with significant attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Demonstrates the ability to prioritize and meet challenging and competing deadlines, while maintaining a professional and calm temperament.
  • Ability to develop and nurture strong, productive relationships with all levels within the organization, respecting established processes and fostering an environment of mutual respect.

  • Experience with Microsoft Office applications.

  • Frequently required to use hands and fingers to handle, feel or operate office equipment, and reach with hands and arms.

  • Specific vision abilities required include: close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. 

Work Environment:

  • Safety glasses are required on the production floor at all times.
  • Hearing protection is required in designated areas.
  • Occasionally subject to hazards including a variety of physical conditions, such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles, electric current and exposure to heat and chemicals.
  • Occasionally subject to conditions including one or more of the following that affect the respiratory system or the skin: fumes, odors, dust, mists, or poor ventilation.
  • Occasionally exposed to cold, hot, wet and/or humid shop conditions.
