Job Role

Lifetime Exteriors is seeking an experienced skilled carpenter. We are looking for someone to hit the ground running with all aspects of carpentry work such as shaping or cutting materials to specified measurements using hand tools, machines or power saws. Additionally, understanding how to study specifications in blueprints, sketches or building plans to prepare project layout and determine dimensions and materials required.

Some of the day-day responsibilities will include:

  • Perform a variety of finish and rough carpentry services consistent with plan specifications
  • Interpret blueprints and layout the phases of construction accordingly
  • Construction/erection of wall frames, supports, stairways and roofing structures using wood and wood product materials
  • Measure, cut, saw, plane and fasten pieces of wood/install sub-flooring and trusses
  • Visualize finished products according to plans

Minimum Qualifications

  • Committed to continual training in regard to insurance specific requirements
  • Inspect, repair, install, modify, rebuild, construct and maintain woodwork and other related structures
  • Knowledge of practices, procedures, techniques, tools and equipment, materials, specifications, quality control and safety
  • Proficient at interpreting specifications and coordinating various phases of construction
  • Build or repair cabinets, doors, frameworks, floors, stairways and other wooden fixtures used in building using woodworking machines, hand tools and power tools
  • Ability to perform layout
  • Basic knowledge of concrete/framework

  • Site layout
  • Stair framing
  • Framing layout
  • Metal stud framing
  • Window/door install
  • Drywall installation and finishing
  • Door and window accessories (hardware)
  • Window, door, floor and ceiling trim
  • Install appliances
  • Cabinet fabrication and installation
  • Advanced roofing, wall and stair ability
  • Finish work capability
  • Function as a crew leader
  • Read and interpret plans
  • Assist with coordinating the scope of work

Safety

  • Maintain CPR and First Aid certification
  • Maintain OSHA 10 certification
  • Specific to situation: Tree Strike or Mitigation (Fire/Water)
  • Familiar with equipment operation: dehumidifier, monitoring meters & extraction equipment
  • Orient each new employee as to quality and safety expectations
  • Obtain certifications to ensure compliance while operating equipment and performing tasks
