EDI Programmer

ROLE:

Business Analyst/Senior Software Developers role supports the company by gathering and documenting requirements, works with leadership and their peers to devise and implement solutions that will meet or exceed business requirements. These professionals are responsible for research, analysis, design, configuration, development, testing (complete Life Cycle Processing) and installation of new software, on Waupaca Foundry’s systemi homegrown ERP systems. They are often required to work on a strict deadline and must also possess excellent time management skills.

EDI responsibilities include but not limited to the coordination and maintenance of information system efficiency, quality, security and integrity of data that Waupaca Foundry shares with both internal and external business partners. An EDI Specialist/Analyst automates and facilitates the transmission of the business partners EDI transactions with customers and suppliers, is responsible for program development, tracks down and resolving EDI production system problems, manages corporate EDI projects to ensure that EDI technical standards are met consistently, and learns the area's direct flow and how it impacts other neighboring operations while maintaining high customer service satisfaction. This person is also responsible for backing up the EDI Coordinator whose additional duties include; developing and maintaining mapping, trading partnership setups, interfacing with other internal and external systems. While both EDI jobs have separate roles many of the requirements of these positions overlap.

This person works in a dynamic environment where they will have the opportunity to design the user experience and implement solid solutions while driving value into the business. This person must provide thorough leadership on best practices for programming design, and have a thorough understanding of enterprise application integration of the Systemi, and other third party software. This position requires a self-starter with strong analytical, problem-solving, and computer skills, as well as the ability to pay attention to detail.


RESPONSIBILITIES :

  • Perform data analysis, data cleansing, project management, design, configuration, conversion, implementation, support, and documentation.
  • System interface support on multiple ERP platforms.
  • Responsible for maintenance, support, and enhancement of Systemi and other third party applications.
  • Lead various project activities to completion while documenting the evolution of the project plan including information about modifications, updates, errors and/or maintenance.
  • Conduct interview sessions with users to discover requirements of a request; define processes, and implement business requirements.
  • Perform project management and coordination of workload tasks for optimum efficiency and assist users in acquiring management approvals when warranted.
  • Possess strong programming skills with extensive knowledge of testing programs; build test conditions, test scripts and test cases to ensure new enhancement(s) function as reqiured by user.
  • Understand logistical operations and EDI standards.
  • Perform EDI trading partner setup, testing, implement, and monitoring communications with customers.
  • A self-starter with excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills capable of working efficiently and productively with members across different disciplines and locations.
  • Maintain a high level of user satisfaction at all times.

QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS:

  • Strong desire to learn a variety of IT disciplines, either through self-study, collaboration with other teams and/or third party services and apply it to business problems and requirements.
  • Technical proficiency, excellent analytical skills for problem solving, and organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated project leadership experience: managing multiple projects, objectives, and deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently, as part of a team or in a lead role including chairing project management meetings and leading teams.
  • Responsible for preparing detailed technical specifications and provide support to users on functional specifications
  • Facilitate the enhancement and implementation of applications to improve business functionality and overall performance complying with established standards, methodologies, and best practices as well as strong experience troubleshooting performance, configuration and application issues.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communications skills. Ability to communicate and interact effectively with all levels of staff and management, as well as with outside customer/vendors.
  • Understanding of logistical and financial operations and their effect on one another.
  • Experience in providing in-depth analysis for long term as well as short-term goals that have to be identified according to time restrictions.
  • Sound experience in creating flow charts, logical reasoning, good networking and expertise in writing program instructions, user manuals and project specifications.
  • Show Initiative and displays a positive flexible attitude.
  • Working experience on the Systemi, and other third party software integration.
  • Bachelors' degree in Information Systems, Business Administration, Computer Science or related discipline desired. Equivalent relevant industry experience may be considered.
  • Minimum of eight (8) years experience in Technical analysis, design, development, implementation and documentation (both technical and functional) of projects on Systemi ERP platform.
  • Experience with various third Party Software: Microsoft Office applications, Trustedlink, T.L.Ashford, Compleo, and others.
  • Perform other duties and special projects as required.
