Headquartered in Plano, Texas, asTech® is a leading provider of diagnostic solutions and services to the collision repair industry. asTech®, which stands for automotive service Technicians, is the first company of its kind to specialize in servicing vehicle electronics. The Company provides remote and in-shop automotive electronic services using its patented asTech® device, performed by ASE-Certified Master Technicians. 

 

Primary Purpose of the Position

 

The Project Manager will be responsible for ensuring the Company’s software development, R&D, asTech device fulfillment and various strategic initiatives are properly planned and executed. Reporting to the CEO, the Project Manager will make sure the business delivers cost-effective, timely solutions to key business issues associated with the Company’s rapid growth. In addition, the Project Manager will help the Company continue to stay at the forefront of automotive technology and diagnostic services.

 

Essential Functions

 

  • Software development oversight including requirements gathering, developing functional specs, bidding projects, establishing milestones, managing development partners, ensuring unit & regression testing are completed and overseeing customer acceptance testing and implementation
  • Assist senior management team in the prioritization and implementation of key strategic initiatives
  • Ensure new initiatives are properly planned, managed and executed
  • Develop feedback loop for all projects and new initiatives to ensure the Company receives the expected ROI
  • Coordinate R&D activity ensuring the Company can provide coverage on new vehicles, this includes coordinating test vehicle acquisition and return with Copart
  • Lead “Issue Tracker” process, prioritizing and assigning bugs to the appropriate group. Audit assigned bugs to confirm fixes are being implemented. In addition, look for reoccurring issues/trends to identify systemic issues.
  • Support R&D with validation testing of remote OEM, Generic and j2534 diagnostic, scanning and programming equipment
  • Manage asTech™ device manufacturer relationship, working closely with sales to ensure timely delivery and fulfillment of new devices
  • Implement standard operating procedures where appropriate with a quality control process to ensure a consistent end result
  • Keep abreast of automotive technology industry trends, business models and emerging technologies
  • Identify additional sources of information that will enhance and add value to the existing diagnostic service
  • Manage and ensure compliance with OEM software license agreements

  • Capable of delivery outstanding customer service results
  • Root cause analysis of system failures and anomalies.
  • Reading and analyzing all automotive types/formats of schematics
  • Microsoft office suite (explorer, word, excel, outlook etc.)

Reports to:  CIO in Plano, TX.

 

Supervisory Responsibility:  This position has no supervisory responsibilities  

 

FLSA Status:  This position is exempt.

 

Work Environment

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

 

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

  • This is largely a sedentary role. Physical requirements include occasional lifting/carrying of 5 pounds; visual acuity, speech and hearing; hand and eye coordination and manual dexterity necessary to operate a computer keyboard and basic office equipment. Subject to sitting, standing, reaching, walking, twisting, and kneeling to perform the essential functions. Working conditions are primarily inside an office environment.

Travel:  No travel is expected for this position
