POSITON SUMMARY: Under general direction performs a variety of tasks associated with the warehouse operations; parts ordering, receiving, storing, loading and unloading supplies. 

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for ordering service parts, receiving and storing supplies.
  • Load or unload supplies while it is being received or when it is being sent out to jobs.
  • Respond to service technician telephone calls for parts.
  • Keep records as goods entering and leaving the warehouse.
  • Locate and stock the trucks with parts that need to be delivered to jobs.
  • Depending location, warehouse work may involve indoor and outdoor work.
  • Help ensure that warehouse is kept clean and safety codes are followed.
  • Using excellent interpersonal skills; establishes and maintains effective working relationships with other employees and vendors.
  • Computer Skills a plus.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

Skills and Experience:

  • Work at a rapid pace to meet shipping and receiving deadlines.
  • Ability to multi-task and work well under pressure.
  • Good mathematical ability and legible handwriting.
  • Excellent physical health is required as this position will involve loading and unloading supplies. The work is physically demanding and requires lifting, bending or standing for long periods of time
  • Good record-keeping skills and must pay attention to details.
  • Training and certification may be required by material handlers to operate heavy-lifting machinery such as forklifts.
  • Graduation from high school or GED equivalent and five (5) years of increasingly responsible experience in warehouse receiving procedures or any equivalent combination of experience and education.
  • Knowledge of plumbing and HVAC materials.
  • Working knowledge of a computerized inventory control system.  Working knowledge in MS Word, Excel or similar computer software systems.
  • Valid MA driver’s license with acceptable driving record for the past three years.
  • A DOT medical card or ability to obtain one.
  • Experience in inventory and materials control procedures.
  • Ability to accurately complete arithmetic computations and sufficiently to perform duties of the job. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, supervisors, other personnel and the public. 
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
