Cemstone is seeking a Truck Parts Purchasing Agent, responsible for inventory control, set up, and maintaining purchasing levels at various locations from a variety of vendors and suppliers. 

Job Summary

  • Purchase truck/automotive part stock and non-stock inventory for multiple garage locations.
  • Administer inventory control and re-purchasing.
  • Establish inventory levels per location, maintain a good relationship with suppliers and vendor representatives.
  • Negotiate prices and makes purchases of quantity items in relation to the best purchase price, discounts, terms and timely delivery.
  • Supervise the taking of inventory by cycle counting or other methods; select and train employees to assist in the taking of inventory and entry of same into the computer system.
  • Maintain required reports and records on file with proper entry of purchases, transfers, price changes into computer purchasing program.
  • Oversee the processing of all returned goods, parts / cores.
  • Work with fleet personnel on directing site mechanics and equipment and shop repairs home facility.
  • Advise management of vendor promotions, specials, new products, and policy changes for cost savings and effective control of inventory.
  • Review supplier invoices, adjust and solve problems with suppliers.
  • Work directly with the Fleet Administrator and A/P regarding billing or pricing issues.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School degree
  • Five to seven years' truck/automotive parts purchasing experience; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
  • Experience in heavy equipment repair, or direct knowledge of heavy trucks/trailers operating systems.
  • Able to communicate effectively with customers, vendors and inter-company personnel.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license.
  • Must be willing to get a CDL if asked.
