Linxx Global Solutions (Linxx) is looking for an experienced weapons instructor for immediate hire as an AT-NSF Weapons Based Instructor. This is a P/T position and is located at CENSECFOR Detachment Chesapeake, Virginia.
Responsibilities
Instructors shall deliver training in support of the Navy’s AT and Weapons Training Program. This includes the following courses of instruction:
- Small Arms Marksmanship Instructor (SAMI) (A-041-0148);
- Antiterrorism Training Supervisor (AT TRASUP) (A-830-0034);
- Security Reaction Force-Advanced (SRF-A) (A-830-0396);
- Armed Sentry/Security Reaction Force-Basic (AS/SRF-B) (A-830-0018);
- Submarine Force Crew Served Weapons Instructor (SUBFOR CSWI) (A-041-0012);
- Crew Served Weapons Operations and Maintenance (CSW O&M) (A-041-0013);
- Crew Served Weapons Instructor (CSWI) (A-830-2215);
- Non-Compliant Boarding, Visit, Board, Search, and Seizure (NCB VBSS) (A-830-0395).
Instructors shall assist in classroom and laboratory preparation, including ranges and remote training sites, student administration, test proctoring, and safety procedures to avoid interruptions in the training day. Instructors shall promote a safe and secure environment conducive to learning
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Possess high personal standards of technical knowledge and professional competence in delivering training material.
- Possess the ability to perform in a military environment.
- Possess a familiarity with the organization and hierarchy of the U. S. Navy, military rank/grade structure.
- Possess a knowledge of Navy and military terminology, and shipboard/installation environments and configurations.
- Possess knowledge of basic and advance training techniques and of computer technology applications as they apply to instructional delivery.
- Possess a basic understanding of Military/Civilian Security Force techniques.
- Team player with a high degree of self-motivation and the ability to work independently
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills
- Possess fitness and conditioning to support the level of instruction.
- Capable of performing all training evolutions, including the ability to effectively complete weapons qualifications in the standing, kneeling and prone positions, ascend or descend ladders and go through narrow passageways, and be free of any abnormal fear of heights.
- Capable of passing a medical screening, psychological evaluation, drug screen and background check.
- Present a professional appearance.
Required Qualifications
- U.S. citizen
- Must have one of the following qualifications:
- Have attended the Navy Instructor Training Course (NITC) (A-012-0077) (or military service equivalent), or
- Academic credentialing (teacher/professor), or
- Instructor training via an academic institution. Academic ITC requirements should contain at a minimum, these Learning Objectives:
- Effective communication and questioning techniques
- Adult learning theory and principles
- Instructional Delivery methods
- Lesson delivery performance laboratory
- Training environment management
- Inter-personal skills
- Evaluation and Feedback
- Must have one qualification from this list:
- SAMI course (A-041-0148) NEC 0812
- CSWI course (A-830-2215) NEC 0814
- Seahawk Weapons and Tactics Instructor Course (S-050-0836) NEC 8210
- Marine Corps Primary Marksmanship Instructor (Military Occupational Specialty (MOS) 8531) and Small Arms Weapons Instructor (MOS 8532) courses
- Other DoD-equivalent small arms and CSWI courses
- FLETC Small Arms Instructor course
- Any Federal or State Law Enforcement Agency Firearms Instructor course
- NRA Five-day Law Enforcement Handgun and Shotgun Development School
- Any other small arms or CSWI course equivalencies approved by OPNAV N46
- Minimum of two years of past military experience in an operational environment, or as a Law Enforcement representative with a military or civilian force
Preferred Requirements
Candidates with these desired skills will be given preferential consideration:
- Possess or be able to qualify as a Second Class Swimmer in accordance with NETC P1552/16 (Navy Swimming and Water Survival Instructors Manual)
- Current CPR certification
- Current Basic First Aid Certification
