The Regional Manager will oversee and be responsible for the general operations for the Minneapolis ready-mix facility. Plant operations include batching, facilities management, quality control and supervision of the ready-mix drivers, truck and plant maintenance personnel. Work closely with dispatch and customers to provide superior product and customer service. 

 

Job Summary

  • Daily workflow management of concrete mixer drivers, aggregate drivers, mechanics, dispatch, and plant operations personnel, including discipline and discharge.
  • Coordinate dispatch operations including planning number of trucks needed, scheduling mixer drivers, production personnel and material truck drivers. Coordination with the Materials Manager on timely and cost effective delivery of raw materials including cement trains.
  • Responsible for the manufacturing and distribution of ready mixed concrete, plant operations and maintenance, safety at plants and general condition of ready mix trucks, truck maintenance, coordination of ready mix trucks, aggregate trucks, coordination of dispatch functions and quality control.
  • Implementation / support of company Safety Program - coordinate with Safety Director and other management personnel to ensure zero lost time accidents.
  • Run plant operations that meet company goals with respect to plant and Mixer efficiency standards. Plants are to be operated in compliance with State and Federal environmental standards. Coordination and support of company plant maintained goals and cost objectives with the Maintenance Manager.
  • Provide leadership for all personnel and instill team approach that is efficient and economical to the company.
  • Address quality control issues with all employees to ensure that raw materials meet company goals and end use product is free from defect to provide 100 percent customer satisfaction.
  • Assist in managing mixer shops and truck maintenance through coordination with the Director of Fleet.
  • Establish and conduct training for all personnel in cooperation with other Cemstone Managers.
  • Manage petty cash and bank deposits.
  • Activity and involvement in Industry Association and participation in community affairs.
  • Involvement in Driver Training Program.
  • Assurance that customers receive timely service and addresses complaints in a timely manner.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Ability to provide leadership to all employees in a professional manner.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must have ability to work with customers, suppliers, and employees.
  • Mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
  • Must be able to speak, write, and read English and be computer literate.
  • Calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license.
  • Ready Mix Concrete industry or related operations management experience is preferred.
