We are currently seeking an Emergency Response Manager to join our growing team! 

Position Overview:

The Emergency Response Manager works with Area Managers and Service Center Managers to develop and grow a successful emergency response business.  The ER Manager is directly involved in the execution of Emergency Services comprised of emergency response, large event projects, bio-response operations, etiological response operations and disaster recovery.  The ER Manager is part of the after-hours response network and must be willing and able to travel for extended periods of time.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Involved in the management of large spill related events.
  • Manages specialty response work such as rail transfer and derailments.
  • Visit and work with Service Center employees on a regular basis to ensure readiness for emergency response.  Complete audits of OSRO equipment.
  • Prepare and complete surprise audits at service centers for the purpose of maintaining response readiness.
  • Emergency Response capabilities planning: USCG BOA agreements (pricing & planning), OSRO ratings (equipment requirements, needs assessments, etc).
  • Assist with developing field service/emergency response standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Maintain key relationships with spill managers, spill consortiums, etc. Maintain relationships with the spill contractor network assuring a strong business relationship.
  • Member of the after-hours and out-of-region response network a.k.a. “emergency response network” for expanded revenues.
  • Work closely with the VP & Regional Managers of Field Services in balancing base business workload with event revenues.
  • Responsible for specialty response equipment that falls outside the normal service center response equipment. Such as staged boom, large vessels, barges, etc.
  • Maintain relationships and procurement practices with specialty vendors such as boom manufacturers, support services, rental companies, etc.
  • Support new acquisition due diligence and integration for ER capabilities. Expand existing and new ER relationships into new area of responsibility.
  • Fill in as needed at Service Centers when Managers are sick or on vacation, etc.

Minimum Qualifications and Experience:

  • High school diploma required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in the sciences or business administration preferred.
  • Must have a minimum of 10 years industry related experience in field services, emergency response and train derailment/rail transfer related response.
  • Previous managerial or supervisory experience required.
  • Must be able to speak, read and write English.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; Word, Excel and Outlook required.
  • Must be extremely organized and detail oriented.
  • Must be able to read, write and communicate effectively.
  • Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license.
  • Travel when necessary.

Successful completion of a pre-employment background and substance screening process including, but not limited to, employment verification, criminal search and Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) search as well continued verification throughout employment to ensure that all records meet company policy standards.
