What You Will Do: You will assist with the preparation of construction plans; complete design calculations and cost estimates; and compile, write, and edit quality technical reports, letters, memos, specifications, and presentations for multiple public and private land development projects with direction and input from senior staff. You will collaborate with other groups / disciplines within the company to deliver top quality projects and unparalleled service to our clients. You may also help with proposals, project budgets and schedules and may be involved in presentations. You may also occasionally perform construction observation duties. As you advance in your career, you may also play the lead role in project design and coordination. Your experience level will determine the amount of independent judgment granted, the complexity of tasks performed, and direct supervision received.
What You Will Bring: The successful candidate will have a Bachelors Degree in Civil Engineering or closely-related field from an accredited school and possess two or more years of experience - preferably in Land Development. The preferred candidate will be able to obtain your Minnesota Professional Engineer (PE) license within two years. You must be able to prepare, read and understand plan documents and have a functional understanding of design software packages; AutoCAD Civil 3D at a minimum and preferably HydroCAD and/or LandFX, including the ability to determine and formulate problems, input data, set-up and use models, perform calculations, and gather/interpret results. Candidates must have a valid driver's license with a good driving record.
