This position will operate the loader, manage materials inventory, perform yard cleanup, operate the dredge and wash plant, and perform maintenance around the pit and on other equipment.

Job Summary

  • Charging trucks with raw materials with wheel loader pursuant to plant output expectations.
  • Management of materials inventory at acceptable levels.
  • Perform general maintenance of loader, greasing and other mechanical duties.
  • Perform general maintenance around the pit and on other equipment as needed.
  • Run the dredge and wash plant when needed.
  • Involvement in company Safety Program with respect to lockout/tagout, and right to know information with regard to loader mine safety.
  • Manage yard with respect to recycled concrete in blocks or paving on an ongoing basis.
  • Perform paperwork with respect to the loader, other equipment and inventories.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Maintain a Class B (Commercial) Driver’s License.
  • Read, write and speak English.
  • Have working knowledge of wheel loader.
  • Take orders, instructions and guidance from supervisors and management.
  • Apply knowledge of mechanical functioning of various components on the equipment and make necessary repairs related to the equipment as they occur.
  • Work alone in group situations and also be able to deal with retail customers on a regular basis.
  • Understand service and repair manuals relating to equipment and/or parts and be able to read and understand product data as it relates to retail items.

Physical Demands

  • Will work outdoors approximately 80 percent of the time, the balance of the time will be indoors. This, however, does not mean that occasionally you will be exposed to extreme conditions such as extreme cold, ice, snow conditions, heat, humidity, and other weather related conditions.
  • Will be subject to serve exposure of carbon monoxide and other chemicals emitted from truck and loader exhaust, diesel fuel.
  • Will be subjected to severe noise exposure. Noise from loader, truck engines and hydraulic pumps fall into this group.
