Pattern Shop (Tooling Rigger)

RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES:

  • Fabricate and assemble foundry pattern tooling according to tooling assembly prints.
  • Understand the design and build of vertical molding machine mold patterns, core setters, Laempe / CB / D75 core machines and definners.
  • Fabricate tooling components using shop equipment such as lathes, drill presses, hand drills, etc.
  • Prep stock material by cutting and or facing using a machining bar.
  • Assemble tooling components according to assembly prints.
  • Use of overhead hoists and fork truck for material movement and machine loading.
  • Responsible for making recommendations in regard to process improvements as well as new technology.
  • Train personnel as required.

QUALIFICATIONS/PREFERENCES:

  • 5-10 years of related experience and/or training, including CNC Machining experience and working knowledge of machining equipment such as lathes, radial arm drill press and various power tools.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprint drawings.
  • Machining knowledge such as feeds and speeds of manual machining, tapping, etc.
  • Understanding of machine setup and material fixturing.
  • Must possess good written and oral communication skills.
  • Employ critical thinking, logic, and reasoning to troubleshoot and solve problems.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs.
  • Applicants will be required to take an assessment test prior to consideration/interview.
