What You Will Do: As Transportation Planner, you will participate in transportation planning, environmental documentation, public outreach and grant writing projects. Typical projects include: long-range transportation plans, corridor studies, pedestrian and bicycle plans, federal environmental documents, and grant applications. As part of job, you will be expected to complete technical analyses, write sections of reports/memos, assist in the development of materials for the public and governmental agencies, and provide assistance as directed by senior staff. You must be able to clearly communicate ideas both verbally and in writing.
In terms of technical skills, you will be expected to be able to apply transportation methods, planning principles, and standard industry evaluations and analyses with input and guidance from senior staff. Strong written communication skills are a must.
What You Will Bring: The successful candidate will have either a Master’s degree in transportation, urban planning, civil engineering or related field from an accredited program or a Bachelor's degree in similar fields and a minimum of two years of applicable experience. The successful candidate will have previous experience as an intern or in a professional capacity. A valid driver's license and clean driving record is also required.
