Position Summary:

The Financial Analyst will be responsible for administering, enhancing, and reporting on the subcontractor prequalification process. They will identify and report on KPIs and other key metrics that are critical to the success of the business. The analyst will collaborate with the Accounting Manager on project revenue and profit forecasts for various future dates, and support the annual budgeting process. This position is responsible for the creation of an internal audit function, including ongoing monitoring and reporting on internal control effectiveness

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:  

  • Oversee financial prequalification process for all subcontractors with contract values over $1M.
  • Administrate non-financial prequalification information in coordination with other departmental managers.
  • Assist the Accounting Manager with monthly project revenue and profit forecasts for multi-year rolling periods.
  • Perform Key Performance Indicator (KPI) reporting and analysis on a monthly basis.
  • Identify and analyze financial drivers within financial reports.
  • Support the Controller and Accounting Manager throughout the annual budgeting process.
  • Develop a company-wide internal audit function, which tests and evaluates established controls.
  • Design, implement, and improve internal controls based on results of internal audit function.
  • Report on internal controls and their effectiveness to management on an ongoing basis.
  • Maintain appropriate internal review documentation to be used as support for independent audit staff where available.
  • Collaborate with the Accounting Manager on ad hoc analytical projects as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:  

  • Bachelor’s Degree with an emphasis in Finance, Accounting, or related field
  • Four to seven years of related experience
  • Ability to read, comprehend, and write instructions, correspondence, and memos
  • Ability to effectively present information on one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals
  • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Ability to use time productively, maximize efficiency and meet challenging work goals
  • Ability to maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures
  • Ability to possess and maintain exceptional work ethic as well as uphold company values and demand the highest standard of conduct from self and others     

Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Experience in the construction industry
  • Knowledge of accounting software; internet applications and Microsoft Excel
  • Knowledge of construction software
