Nature of Work

Responsible for the development and administration of the employee relations program, affirmative action program, and employee advocacy. Interfaces with employees, government agencies, and educational institutions. Will be involved with training and development of employees.

 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Oversees the career development and internal employee relations efforts within the organization, provides counsel to managers.
  • Will assist with the development and facilitation of various training initiatives.
  • Assists management with performance concerns, disciplinary action, and conflict management issues.
  • Administers the Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) and affirmative action programs.
  • Conducts exit interviews, summarizes findings, and discusses trends and concerns with senior management.
  • Participates in quality assurance activities.
  • Coordinates preparation of position descriptions to ensure FLSA compliance, etc.
  • When needed, administers or interprets labor agreements, grievance procedures, etc.
  • May assist with recruiting efforts when needed.
  • May assist with maintaining relationships with schools, associations, and other agencies.
  • Exercise initiative or, as directed, perform additional duties to meet the needs of the organization.

Education

  • A minimum of a Bachelor's degree from a four-year college/university or equivalent experience, preferably in Human Resource Management or a related field, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) or SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) credential

 

Experience

  • Five years or more of related work experience within Human Resources or Employee Relations
  • Experience within Training and Facilitation preferred

 

Travel

There will be travel involved to various subsidiary offices for training, as well as potential travel for recruiting events on an as needed basis.
