What You Will Do: You will take the lead in the preparation of construction plans; design roadways, utility networks, parking lots, commercial and residential subdivisions, erosion control measures; design and develop plats, development plans, demolition plans and similar elements of land development and municipal projects; complete design calculations and cost estimates; and compile, write, and edit quality technical reports, letters, memos, specifications, and presentations for multiple public and private land development projects with direction and input from senior staff. You will collaborate with other groups / disciplines within the company to deliver top quality projects and unparalleled service to our clients. You may also help with proposals, project budgets and schedules and may be involved in presentations. You may also occasionally perform construction observation duties. As a project engineer you will be proficient in developing 3D corridors, grading and design models, pipe networks, and construction documents using AutoCAD Civil 3D. Your designs and construction plans will adhere to WSB’s CAD standards. You will consistently contribute to WSB’s improvement in technical expertise by learning and sharing your experience with others. Your experience level will determine the amount of independent judgment granted, the complexity of tasks performed and direct supervision received.
What You Will Bring: The successful candidate will have a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, or similar field, from an accredited school and possess two or more years of land development experience. The preferred candidate will have their Minnesota Professional Engineer (PE) license or the ability to obtain their license within one year. You must be able to prepare, read and understand plan documents and have a functional understanding of design software packages; AutoCAD Civil 3D at a minimum and preferably HydroCAD, including the ability to determine and formulate problems, input data, set-up and use models, perform calculations, and gather/interpret results. Candidates must have a valid driver's license with a good driving record.
