Lakeside Industries, Inc. is an award winning industry leader, specializing in manufacturing and construction of asphalt pavements for Federal, State, City and private customers. The Head of Business Systems works closely with the entire IT team to support the technology infrastructure and line of business applications that contribute directly to the success of Lakeside Industries. As a member of a small IT Team, this role must span traditional support and engineering roles providing service to end users as necessary while also administering and managing key pieces of technology and infrastructure. Candidates should have a strong mix of technical and customer service skills, experience as a change-agent, and a passion for technology. Must have an acceptable driving record and pass a pre-employment drug screen.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Demonstrate accountability through thorough planning, effective management, and reliable delivery.
- Provide leadership, coaching and direction to departmental staff necessary to ensure Lakeside Industries success.
- Ensure availability and effectiveness of all Lakeside Industries Core Business Systems. Including but not limited to our ERP System (Viewpoint & Key Style), our Bidding, Estimating, & Maintenance Systems (B2W), SharePoint, Tableau, lakesideindustries.com, and various technologies supporting our Asphalt plants.
- Responsible for design and development of any custom components necessary to support integration, reporting, and maybe lakesideindustries.com (as necessary).
- Accountable for Database design, performance, support and monitoring.
- Accountable for our azure deployment (AD, O365, etc.) and for administration of all core system.
- Product owner for service management system, Application Performance Monitoring, and other IT tools.
- Act as an escalation point and provide technical expertise, support, and training for other IT staff.
- Set the mission and vision of the Business Systems organization to foster a business-oriented culture and mindset driven by continual service improvement
- Develop and implement IT Systems and Service strategies.
- Assesses the impact of IT industry trends to current and future technology needs and projects.
- Drives the development of enterprise technology standards, governance processes and performance metrics.
- Direct, organize and oversee the planning, deployment and maintenance of all Lakeside Industries Core Business Systems. Oversee software patches, upgrades, hardware and software roll outs, applications, etc.
- Act as the Technical Product Owner and primary administrator (as necessary) all Lakeside Industries Core Business Systems.
- Partner with Business Product Leads and vendors to ensure maximum value is achieved from each product. Ensures contracted SLAs are met.
- Ensure that monitoring is in place and that appropriate life cycle management activities are planned and delivered to ensure ongoing system health.
- Work closely with vendors to ensure maximum value from end user productivity tool product portfolio.
- Accountable for the Business Systems Request Management Process designed to track and manage intake, assessment, planning, and delivery of all changes to Business Systems (including reporting).
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
- Demonstrate the ability to communicate effectively with people at all technical skill levels – novice to advanced.
- Display outstanding customer service skills and demonstrate excellent written and interpersonal communication skills across the company. Excellent follow up and follow through.

- Must be self-motivated and team oriented and desire to cross train and mentor other IT staff.
- Technical Expertise, including server and desktop operating systems, networking, telecommunications, Printers, Peripherals, Customer Specific Applications, Mobile Devices.
- Exchange Server administration, both on-prem and O365 required.
- SQL Server administration a plus.
- Cloud services experience, particularly Microsoft Azure preferred.
- Demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft languages and technologies
- Knowledge of web technologies, such as HTML, CSS and JavaScript libraries.
- Strong engineering and technology background with the ability to go deep into technology solutions (ability to roll-up sleeves is crucial for success)
- Experience leading process and/or technology transformation is preferred.
- Extensive experience with Agile Software Development
- Must be punctual, highly organized, accurate and efficient, exhibit attention to detail, possess the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.
- Experience in the construction industry is a plus
- Must be able and willing to travel up to 20%
The successful candidate will possess:
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or Technology program preferred.
- A minimum of 5 years experience working with business and technology stakeholders.
- A minimum of 5 years experience administering and maintaining systems, Microsoft-based system preferred.
