Education Required:

  • Four year Civil Engineering degree or technical knowledge and related experience.
  • Previous experience as a Civil project manager and engineering experience in all facets of the operation (analysis, testing, quality control, estimating, superintendent, management)

Experience Required:  8 + years

Additional Requirements:

  • Develop risk management plan based on review of the contract documents
  • Undertake technical and feasibility studies, to include site investigations
  • Plan executive schedules, work plans and communicate same
  • Oversee and assume responsibility for accurate and detailed production budgets; assess risk associated with quantity estimates and develop contingency plans
  • When assessing risk, consider government regulations, potential environmental effects and other factors
  • Negotiate all but the most difficult of contract issues with limited supervision
  • Resolve design and constructability problems, using standard engineering theory and construction practices
  • Oversee or interpret soil testing to determine the adequacy and strength of foundations
  • Oversee testing of construction materials, such as concrete, asphalt, steel
  • Perform or oversee, surveying operations to establish reference points, grades, and elevations to guide the construction process
  • Demonstrate sound supervision of budget controls and cost control plans; assess project risk and develop contingency plans that protect original earnings; possess complete working knowledge of company financial and operational structure
  • Demonstrate sound judgment and knowledge about contracts; settle disputes and negotiations between parties
  • Demonstrate and implement sound methods and tactics for project controls and documentation; organize project files
  • Supervise and organize large projects and staff; work with differing personalities and mediate conflict resolution with win-win outcomes
  • Delegate, supervise and accomplish close-out plan and deliverables
  • Manage additional leaders; exhibit strong leadership qualities
  • Monitor large or multiple projects in different stages of development; effectively delegate control and monitoring techniques
  • Maintain lasting relationships with business partners and community; practice exceptional team building and conflict resolution skills with both internal and external clients
  • Strive to be best in class in client satisfaction
  • Develop new clients or markets; secure new work through new or existing relationships
  • Develop and implement new opportunities for self and others in career and personal development; train replacement
  • Other duties as needed

Work Environment:
• You may be exposed to noise, dampness, heat, cold, dust, fumes (occasionally, but always well- ventilated), chemicals (will work with, but normally won't work in a chemical environment) and confined spaces (on occasion).
• Up to seven hours of an eight-hour shift are spent standing.
• Temperatures range from 25° to 115 F.

Essential Job Functions:
• You must be able to twist, stoop, bend, squat, kneel, crawl, climb ladders, climb stairs, walk on uneven ground, work above ground on scaffolds, see colors to read GHS labeling on containers, have depth perception to avoid excavations and other hazards, hear well enough to recognize the sound of horns on moving equipment and have good finger manipulation.
• There is constant lifting of 10 lbs, frequent lifting of 25 lbs and maximum single person lifting of 60 lbs. For items over 60 lbs, assistance from co-worker is required. Lifting entails reaching at, above and below shoulder height.
• Employee must be able to climb on light or heavy equipment, carry and use hand tools.

Special Clothing:
• You will be required to wear puncture resistant footwear, long pants and four- inch sleeves on shirts. PPE (hard hat, safety glasses, etc.) is required. All safety appliances (hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, high visibility vest, ear plugs, fall protection, respiratory equipment, etc.) will be provided.
