Summary: HGC Construction, a growing regional commercial construction provider is seeking a full time Superintendent to join our team. HGC and its affiliates, Structural Systems Repair Group and Stanton Millworks currently employ nearly 300 employees and are expanding operations into other states and regions.

Essential Job Functions:
The Superintendent is the tactical leader on site who is fully responsible for the physical work and implementation of the scope of the project. In addition, the Superintendent leads and develops others as a project evolves from inception to final closeout while ensuring customer satisfaction and high quality of work, project profitability and on time delivery.

 

Major Areas of Responsibility:

  • Safety on the job site
  • Daily communication with Sub-contractors
  • Assist in the monitoring and for the outcome of the projects’ cost for labor, materials, subcontractors, and equipment as work progresses and take necessary measures to control cost, productivity, quality and on time delivery
  • Utilize available resources and programs and tools to regularly monitor the cost of the project in comparison to the contract and delivery schedule
  • Consistently monitor the actual cost versus the agreed upon project budget
  • Will assist and take necessary measures to control cost, productivity, quality and on time delivery
  • Responsible to gather and audit all the time cards and submit on time every payroll cycle.
  • Manage the customers’ expectations while achieving company established benchmarks and upholding the corporate culture and its values
  • Ensure compliance with all Quality Control measures, testing requirements, and inspections of each project/s
  • Responsible for maintaining a full understanding of all equipment capabilities and have the ability to plan the safe and proper usage of all equipment within the scope and schedule of each project

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of supervisory leadership principles and practices
  • Knowledge of city, state, and federal laws, ordinances and regulations related to the construction industry
  • Skilled in the effective use of various negotiation techniques
  • Skill in making decisions regarding project priorities, costs, and alternative
  • Skill in performing research, analyzing findings, preparing and presenting reports to HGC leadership, project owner, subcontractor and design team as required
  • Skill in operating standard office equipment including a personal computer and related software.

  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management, and 4+ years of experience in the role of Foreman or Superintendent
  • Or minimum of 12 years of experience in commercial/residential construction with 4+ years’ experience in the role of Foreman or Superintendent
