We are currently seeking Irrigation Helpers to join our team.

 

Pay rate:  Hourly position, starting range is $12.50 - $14.00, depending on experience.

 

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:  

 

  • Requires a working knowledge of underground sprinkler systems
  • Ability to diagnose, repair and install irrigation systems for our clients
  • Sets and maintains times on computer and electronic valve clocks
  • Ability to troubleshoot computerized electronic systems, irrigation controllers, solenoid valves and sprinkler heads of all types and manufacturers.
  • Ability to map system locations for master plans
  • Ability to instruct others on minor irrigation repairs
  • Operate trencher equipment.
  • May assist in coordination with other departments or outside contractors
  • Attendance Requirements are 40 Hours per week
  • Performs other duties as required.

 

Minimum Qualifications:

 

  • Ability to troubleshoot and repair commercial/residential irrigation systems
  • Understand basic pipe sizes and irrigation design
  • Install/troubleshoot controllers and valves
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to work independently
  • Ability to inspect properties and generate reports
  • Professional communication skills and team work is essential
  • Strong work ethic / self-starter
  • Bilingual a plus
  • Must be available for call back or emergency service as needed
  • Employees must be able to maintain attention and concentration for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to wear PPE as necessary.
  • Must be able to enter and exit a vehicle numerous times a day.
  • Must be able to withstand exposure to all kinds of weather while completing work assignments, i.e., rain, heat, sun, cold.
  • Must be able to write, read and comprehend written and verbal job instructions/information..
  • Must be able to lift, move and maneuver up to 50 pounds on an infrequent basis, and up to 10 pounds on a frequent basis.
  • Must have endurance necessary to perform these duties throughout a standard eight or ten-hour day.  Must be able to work long hours and overtime during emergencies (including holidays, weekends, etc.  Subject to call out work).
  • Must be able to operate and service all required tools and equipment.
  • Must have transportation to and from the show up location.
  • Must be able to pass a post-offer drug screen.
  • Must be able to pass a post-offer background check and Motor Vehicle Records Check (MVR).
  • Must have a valid driver’s license.
