Frank Beverage Group in Middleton, WI is now hiring for an IT Support Intern. The IT Support Intern provides support for the company’s office and mobile computer systems. Main responsibilities of this position will include setting up, maintaining, and updating the required computer systems for employee new hires, terminations and status changes. Other responsibilities will include the setup and ongoing support of office computers, office printing devices, as well as mobile computing devices used in the field. 

Schedule:

Monday- Friday

This is a limited term position with an anticipated start date of mid-May and an end date of early September.

Responsibilities:

  • Provides setup and maintenance for desktop, laptop, and mobile hardware and software
  • Investigates and resolves hardware and software problems with end users, including office staff and mobile device users
  • Maintains and assists end users with office printing and copying devices
  • Assists the IT support help desk, responding to employee requests regarding problems, issues or concerns. Involves, or escalates to other team members based on availability or subject matter expertise
  • Assists in ticket management system ensuring that tickets are resolved in a timely manner. Analyzes and resolves incidents or requests about software or hardware. Logs and tracks incidents and requests from identification through resolution both accurately and with all necessary details.  Follow up with the end user, and other support staff involved, to ensure requests are resolved and the customer communication is complete.  Documents resolutions with details and updates applicable support documentation.
  • Sets up, maintains, and updates computer systems (email, phone, building access, etc.) for employee new hires, terminations and change of status
  • Provides support for company audio/visual systems
  • Contributes in the troubleshooting of both software and hardware problems with the company’s service providers, including hardware warranty repairs
  • Assist in the scheduled implementation and maintenance for large groups of devices throughout the company
  • Potentially provide weekend and after hours support as needed

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Education and Experience:

  • Certifications, advanced study, or current pursuit of an Associates or Bachelor’s degree in Management Information Systems, Computer Technology, Computer Science, IT or PC Support or equivalent experience is required
  • Prior experience supporting users of computer hardware and application software

Skills and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of some or all of the following:
    • Microsoft Office
    • Windows Operating Systems
    • Windows Server Operating Systems
    • Remote Desktop support
    • Active Directory and Exchange
    • Patch management
    • Advanced printer/peripheral device troubleshooting
    • TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP and Wi-Fi
    • Remote support for handhelds, smartphones and tablets
    • Antivirus, spyware, and malware software and removal tools
  • Knowledge of various hardware including: desktops, laptops, tablets, and printers
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks
  • Ability to work independently or as a part of a team
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to solve problems
  • Attention to detail and well organized
  • Ability to use support software tools
  • Customer focus
  • Effective oral and written communication skills; ability to communicate with all levels of the organization, ability to explain technical situations to non-technical staff

Other:

  • This position may require occasional travel to offices throughout Wisconsin. Valid driver’s license and proof of insurability is required. Reliable transportation is required

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds on an occasional basis
  • Ability to use arms, hands, reach and grasp. Bending, crawling, or stooping are occasionally required
  • Ability to sit long periods of time
