Donley's is seeking a Director of Engineering Services to oversee the design and development of drawings and the selection and procurement of formwork materials in multiple markets.

Essential job Functions

Responsibilities

  • Manages Formwork Inventory and Design/Development of Drawings
  • Placement Sequence drawings
  • Crane and Placing Boom layout drawings
  • Site Logistics Drawings
  • Reviews drawings provided by formwork suppliers to ensure accuracy and constructability
  • Designing, calculating and working with the engineering department to finalize drawings
  • Designs and Inspects Installation of Formwork on the jobsites.
  • Conduct first run studies.
  • Reviews look ahead schedules to determine project delivery dates.
  • Participates in project reviews to help determine the correct forming system used and the proper quantities.
  • Performs pre-pour inspections on jobsites
  • Participates in Value Engineering Exercises with the Pre-Construction Team to provide a better value to the end user/client.
  • Training with shoring/reshoring and wind load mitigation to formwork

Managerial Responsibilities

  • Supervises detailing departments.
  • Works with pre-construction to incorporate 3D modeling and clash detection into the formwork design services.

Position Requirements

  • Required
    • Licensed Professional Engineer related to Formwork Design and preferably Post Tensioning Slab Design.
    • Ability to perform engineering analysis; such as calculate loads, pressures, shear, moment and deflection.
    • Bachelor’s degree in the field of Civil or Mechanical Engineering or Civil Engineering Technology and 8-10 years related experience and/or training:
      • Licensed Professional Engineer related to Formwork Design and preferably Post Tensioning Slab Design.
      • Ability to perform engineering analysis; such as calculate loads, pressures, shear, moment and deflection.

Working Conditions:

  • Work performed in a general office environment and at project sites.
  • Requires use of ladders and stair towers on jobsites.
  • Requires overtime hours on a regular basis. 
  • Requires periodic participation and attendance at company events and meetings.
