Control Air Conditioning Corporation is looking for an experienced Software Developer/Programmer who can immediately join our I.T. Department at our headquarters in Anaheim, California.

Control Air is one of the largest commercial air conditioning firms in California.  Our three major divisions (New Construction, Tenant Improvement, and Service) handle a wide range of projects and services, including:  office & high rise, medical, labs & clean rooms, industrial, sports facilities, retail, educational facilities, hotel, public works, retrofit, design build, design assist, and many others.  In addition, we have our own manufacturing facilities that manufacture and distribute union-made products to the HVAC Industry throughout the Western United States.

Our corporate headquarters are in Southern California (Anaheim – just south of Los Angeles), conveniently located near several major freeways.  We also have offices in San Diego and Hayward (Northern California).  Our manufacturing facilities are located in Anaheim (Southern California) and in Hayward (Northern California).

The Software Developer will work with a small team of developers to design and implement software to support multiple groups within the company. This includes, but is not limited to, custom databases, graphical data representations, interface designs, and automated data retrieval and formatting. The Software Developer will need to be able to work independently or as part of a team as particular tasks require.  The Software Developer will need to be able to liaison with internal clients in a fast paced environment with rapidly changing requirements, so strong communication skills are a necessity.


  • Develop software using primarily HTML, JavaScript, PHP, C#, and ASP.NET languates
  • Participate in all aspects of a project life-cycle from specifications, development, testing, release, and maintenance
  • Find and fix bugs, optimize performance, keep up to date with latest relevant technologies
  • Install, configure and upgrade software, using standard business and administrative packages; may modify specific applications for use in operational departments
  • Act as a technical resource in assisting users resolve software related issues and implements solutions
  • Troubleshoot problems with computer systems, including troubleshooting hardware and software, e-mail, network and peripheral equipment problems; makes repairs and corrections where required
  • Provide guidance for the team with technical architecture as needed
  • Provide technical leadership for project and team through design and code reviews, ensuring best technical practices are applied
  • Learn all software programs utilized in the day-to-day business operations of the company
  • Other duties as assigned


  • Must have knowledge of web based design and programming with HTML, JavaScript, PHP and ASP.NET languates utilizing back-end MySQL and MSSQL databases.
  • Minimum of 4 years work experience in the IT field. Minimum of 3 years in web development
  • Acts in an ethical and truthful manner, leading by example and earning the respect and trust of co-workers, customers, and stakeholders

  • Ability to deliver on commitments, work through issues and bring projects to completion in a timely manner
  • Knowledge of object-oriented programming and overall database design
  • Working knowledge of MS-Office products, MSWord, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS Outlook and MS Access and client operating system like Windows XP/Vista/7/8 Operating System
  • Excellent communication skills (oral & written)
  • Excellent technical and problem solving skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate at all levels of the organization
  • Strong organizational skills, detail orientation, the ability to multi-task, meet deadlines, and prioritize work
  • Must be a self-starter with the ability to work alone, or in a team environment with or without supervision

  • Experience with Sage Timeberline Office (Sage 300 CRE)
  • Visual Basic for Applications and .Net experience
  • Report Builder software such as Crystal Reports and Access reporting
  • Experience performance tuning production database queries
  • Experience in providing general support for internal and external users
  • Experience with code repositories and revision management
  • Network Engineering experience a plus
  • Experience with system administration using Microsoft Server technologies/MSCE
