Central Iowa Power Cooperative (CIPCO) is currently searching for a Powerline Construction Coordinator to join the team in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. This position coordinates and executes operations, maintenance and line construction projects in support of the Cooperative’s transmission system.

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Assist in the development and coordination of system-wide preventative maintenance and regulatory required programs of the System Operations Department.
  • Perform and coordinate operating and maintenance projects including road moves, switch installations, substation modifications, etc. as may be assigned system wide.
  • Support System Operations Department staff in technical duties including right-of-way acquisition, drafting, construction inspection, staking, etc. as directed.
  • Coordinates and expedites resources needed for emergency service restoration during major outages.

Requirements and Critical Success Factors

  • High School diploma or GED with a minimum 7 years of experience in the electric power industry or equivalent combination of education and experience; technical training and education is preferred.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Planning and organizational skills
  • Strong math skills
  • Good computer skills
  • Working knowledge of accounting, drafting and public relations
