SUMMARY

The Foreman is directly responsible for leading and working alongside a crew of Journeyman, Mechanics and/or Helpers. This position will lay out work and ensure that labor, materials, tools, equipment and information are on the job site in the proper locations to meet construction schedules and budgetary expectations.  Position interacts with Superintendent or Project Manager and on smaller projects may oversee complete installation.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Safety Enforcement and Documentation:

  • Review, enforce and meet all safety policies, procedures and OSHA requirements
  • A good working knowledge of the NEC
  • Stay up to date with local/state/federal requirements/codes

Working relationship with local jurisdiction electrical Inspectors:

  • Conduct Daily/Weekly/Monthly safety reporting (including Monday morning weekly toolbox safety meetings, daily safely huddles)
  • Assure work areas are prepared and conduct job inspections

Job Scheduling:

  • Schedule labor and materials, with 3 week look ahead
  • Work with Superintendent to maintain, develop and monitor job schedule
  • Track labor (hours and attendance), production and materials
  • Assure Quality control processes are followed

GC/Customer Relations and Communication:

  • Attend Job meetings and effectively communicate progress and issues
  • Report job scheduling and conditions to Superintendent/PM
  • Maintain strong, trusting customer relations with Peers and Sub-contractors
  • Identify and Resolve issues/concerns in a timely manner

Material/tools/equipment:

  • Safely use all tools, equipment and materials
  • Track materials and manpower
  • Get job done and manage within budgeted hours
  • Supervise Project/Site, as well as Journeymen and helpers.

Crew Performance Management & Development:

  • Ensure all crew members are qualified for tasks assigned
  • Effectively manage and motivate employees and crews
  • Coach and provide new employee mentoring and different skill opportunities
  • Adapt communication style to work best with crew

Qualifications:

  • Licensed Journeyman electrician
  • Minimum Eight Year Construction experience
