Job Summary:  Lafayette Group is seeking a qualified and highly motivated individual to work with government organizations to assist with emergency communications (e.g., land mobile radio) technology documentation, strategy, and technical support to improve performance of technology supporting core mission operations. This position will involve developing and implementing IT-related tools, processes, and documentation to support nationwide modernization of client public safety communications technologies.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Design, plan, and implement IT-related processes and tools for client-related public safety communications technology modernization effort
  • Develop documentation including business cases, capital planning and investment control, lifecycle cost estimates, and other related documentation
  • Develop and provide quality assurance on program requirements, risk, schedules, etc.
  • Provide input into government procurement materials and system life cycle documents
  • Perform research into technology partner or other vendor solutions in context of client requirements for integration
  • Analyze operational, technical, strategic, and policy information to identify findings and develop recommendations for improvements in IT systems, devices, and applications
  • Assist with conducting customer and stakeholder analyses by capturing, synthesizing, and summarizing key points from interviews, focus groups, and internal meetings, and translating insights into draft deliverables and products
  • Support the development of written work products including strategic plans, alternatives analyses, data collections tools, presentations, talking points, fact sheets, and white papers
  • Build strong relationships with clients and stakeholders
  • Provide meeting planning, facilitation, and logistical support

Basic Qualifications:

  • 5 years of consulting experience in a professional or internship environment
  • 2 years of IT Service Management (ITSM) related experience
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and SharePoint
  • Experience working with ServiceNow platform
  • Possession of excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Possession of excellent research, data gathering, analytical, critical thinking, and listening skills
  • Ability to think strategically and learn quickly
  • Ability to meet deadlines and adhere to project plans
  • Ability to be flexible and adaptable
  • Ability to interact and network effectively with all levels of staff, including senior leadership, both internal and on the client site
  • BA or BS degree required
  • Must have the ability to obtain and maintain DHS suitability which will require successful completion of a background check and fingerprinting

This position involves working on federal contracts that require all workers on the contract to be U.S. Citizens. Additionally, some contracts may require the ability to obtain a security clearance.
