CURRENT OPPORTUNITY: Project Manager
Summary
The Project Manager plans, directs, and coordinates work activities of the project. This position provides technical oversight and personnel management to the group for assessment and remediation services. This position is responsible for the completion of projects on time and within budget, and the work typically involves client contact for individual projects. This position reports to the Director of Operations.
Essential Duties
- Schedule, assign duties, and coordinate work activities of the technical staff based on evaluation of their knowledge of specific disciplines and work to be completed.
- Provide management and oversight during project execution.
- Track project financial status and coordinate monthly client invoicing.
- Compose and review technical reports to ensure accuracy, clarity, and timely submittal.
- Maintain understanding of Owner and FDEP regulations, SOP’s, and guidelines; ensure all HCR activities are in compliance.
Responsibilities
- Provide detailed instructions for project staff.
- Setup, manage and control subcontractor services on projects.
- Effectively identify potential impact to a project from a variety of possible contamination sources and other outside influences.
- Perform/manage Phase I and Phase II Assessments and assemble associated documentation.
- Prepare/review Level II Assessment reports.
- Review time sheets and field reports for accuracy.
- Ensure Maintenance of Traffic (MOT) on projects is properly designed and installed.
- Develop and maintain baseline budgets and work plans for assigned projects.
- Develop and maintain project schedules.
- Confer with owner staff concerning policies, project assignments, defining scopes of work, and addressing HCR project performance issues.
- Prepare and process field samples as needed and requested.
- Create and communicate Emergency Response procedure; ensure team is available as needed.
- Review/assemble project invoices and ensure timely payment.
- Other duties as assigned.
Experience/Qualifications
- 8+ years related Project Management experience.
- 5+ years experience in overall Contamination Assessment and Remediation services including drilling, field assessment, remedial design, and emergency response.
- Significant understanding of all field functions.
- Excellent technical writing skills, including writing technical special provisions and permits.
- Strong background in management of project teams.
- Knowledge of applicable federal, state, county, local regulations, rules, SOP’s, guidelines, etc.
- Experienced and proficient with a variety of software tools including Microsoft Office and Timberline.
- Effective team player; collaborative and cooperative with internal and external customers.
- Good communication skills, both with HCR employees as well as customers and regulators (comfortable in person, via phone and/or via electronic communications).
- Highly Organized.

- Detail Oriented.
Education
Bachelor's degree from college or university; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Work Environment
The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
This role requires a certain amount of presence at various job sites. Sites may include, but are not limited to, oil refineries, active gas stations, abandoned warehouses, roadways, bridges, etc. The noise level in the environment is moderate but may be high when at job sites. Safety equipment will be provided as needed for each site, including respirators.
This role may also be subjected to varying temperatures due to changes in outdoor weather.
