JOB TITLE: ­­­TLP - MECHANIC 

Summary 

The primary responsibilities involve the maintenance, services, and repair of trucks and trailers 26,000 GVW and lighter and small engine equipment, (e.g. lawn mowers, string trimmers, backpack blowers, etc.)  

Essential Functions and Responsibilities: 

  • Maintains inventory records on repairs made, parts ordered, and parts inventory.
  • Maintains accurate services records.
  • Minor metal fabrication and welding.
  • Operates manual transmissions.
  • Diagnoses equipment for problems and make timely repairs.
  • Provide emergency service to vehicles and other landscape management equipment.
  • Perform general building maintenance as assigned.
  • Display honesty and respect when working with co-workers, customers, and other company employees.
  • Communicate constructively with customers, laborers, and the Supervisor.
  • Follow and uphold Company policy and expectations.
  • Participate in maintaining a safe and secure work environment for employees and customers by adhering to company safety policies.
  • Performs other tasks as assigned by supervisor/manager.
  • Performs other duties as required. 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Must have knowledge and experience maintaining and repairing trucks and trailers 26,000 GVW and lighter.
  • Must have experience working on small engines, mowers, and two-cycle equipment.
  • Experience in welding is preferred.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license with a good driving record.
  • Must be able to complete required paperwork fully and accurately.
  • Must be able to work outdoors in most weather conditions including excess heat, cold, rain and snow
  • Must be physically able to remain on feet all day if necessary.
  • Must be able to maneuver around and under various vehicle types and other equipment in order to perform mechanical service and repairs.
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds numerous times during a work shift.
  • Must be willing to learn new skills.
  • Must be able to maintain effective working relationships with other co-workers.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively in written and oral forms.
  • Must be able to work unsupervised.
  • Must be able to work flexible hours which may include weekends as well as evening hours.
  • Must have the ability to communicate in English.
  • Must have strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Must have basic computer skills.
  • Must be able to wear PPE as necessary.
  • Must be able to enter and exit a vehicle numerous times a day.
  • Must be able to write, read and comprehend written and verbal job instructions/information.
  • Must be able to operate and service all required tools and equipment.
  • Must have transportation to and from the show up location.
  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen.
