Job Summary:

Repair and maintain electric, diesel, and gasoline industrial trucks. Seeking a Master level Mechanic with a strong mechanical aptitude, who is able to repair, troubleshoot and/or rebuild construction equipment engines. Our ideal candidate will have a minimum of 10 years of experience servicing diesel trucks, bulldozers, graders, loaders, forklifts, and conveyors, etc., used in construction. 

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Read job orders, observe and listen to truck/equipment in operation, to determine malfunction and plan work procedures.
  • Disassemble machinery, heavy equipment, and diesel/gasoline engines to remove parts and make applicable repairs.
  • Confer with operators and observe, test, and evaluate operation of equipment to properly diagnose cause of malfunction.
  • Analyze, repair, adjust and align any/all components of machinery, heavy equipment and engines.
  • Order and/or requisition parts and materials as needed.
  • Maintain vehicle records by annotating all received services and repairs.
  • Complete test runs on repaired machinery, heavy equipment, and engines to verify adequacy of repairs.
  • Understand and perform various daily and weekly assignments from verbal or written communication.
  • Keep equipment and work area clean and orderly.
  • Adhere to all company safety standards/policies and applicable OSHA regulations.
  • Install new ignition systems, align front wheels, change or recharge batteries, and replace transmissions and other parts.
  • Other duties may be assigned.

Essential Qualifications:

  • 10+ years experience servicing diesel trucks, bulldozers, graders, loaders, forklifts, and conveyors, etc., used in construction. 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Valid state issued driver’s license and a clean MVR. 

Desired Qualifications:

  • An active “Class A CDL”.
  • Mechanic/ASE certification.
  • Flexible and able to work at different job sites as needed.
  • A certificate from college or technical school.
  • Able to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.  Able to write routine reports and correspondence.  
  • Able to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, verbal, or diagram form.  

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to sit. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment:

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; moving mechanical parts; high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; outside weather conditions and vibration. The employee is frequently exposed to risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
