Summary
At Balfour Beatty Construction in Dallas, Texas, we are seeking a Solutions Architect with systems integration and data modeling experience to join our IT team! This will be a hands-on role with responsibility for helping with the maturation of our data architecture and systems integration capabilities. The ideal candidate will also be able to work with internal customers to solve, implement and lead through deployment technical solutions for their business needs.
Essential Functions
- Design, analyze, develop, test, document, implement and maintain custom developed integration solutions that encompass multiple enterprise systems and/or data sources using industry best practices
- Design and implement enterprise data model and canonical message structure to abstract source systems and provide a common semantically correct data hub for a single source of truth for major data subject areas for business analysis.
- Document and maintain metadata of core data subject areas.
- Build visualizations using Power BI and other data analytic tools
- Research technologies, approaches and patterns for continuous improvement.
- Recommend or review methods of coordinating the sharing of like data between applications.
- Assist in developing procedures and processes which assure the integrity of application data.
- Partner with outside consulting service organizations as needed
- Participate in technology initiatives to provide enterprise, systems, data and integration guidance.
- Manage small special department projects as necessary.
- Create technical documentation for IT systems and solutions.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field required.
- Four years or more experience related to the role.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, or technical procedures.
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, staff, and the general public.
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
- Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in text or diagram form and manipulate several abstract and concrete variables.
- Experience using Java, PowerShell, and C#.
- A real-world understanding of PL/SQL, MSSQL, or other related programming language.
- Experience using Microsoft Power BI.
- Competent understanding of ETL/ELT tools (Jitterbit, Dell Boomi, Matillion, Informatica, Oracle Data Integrator, or others).
Preferred Experience
- Experience with AWS Cloud Services or Azure.
- Starschema data modeling experience preferred, but not required.
- Experience using Jitterbit.
