Utility Lines Construction Services, LLC (ULCS) has an immediate opening for an experienced Heavy Equipment Mechanic to repair a variety of utility construction equipment and trucks. The construction equipment is based out of our Dundalk, MD shop and this position will require travel between our various power line projects in the DE, MD, and VA Region.

Our Region performs work from Delaware to Virginia. You will be responsible for travelling to various job sites and maintaining our fleet to ensure the company’s ability to serve the customer and provide reliable equipment for employees. Our Heavy Equipment Mechanic must have a valid Driver’s License in good standing. A Commercial Driver’s License is a plus. Must have experience as a mechanic. Must be able to travel within the Region 50-70% of the time. Compensation is based upon experience. Average work week is four 10-hour days. Overtime is on an as-needed basis for the projects we are supporting.
Essential Functions:
- Actively works within the business to improve fleet performance.
- Promotes safety requirements associated with this position.
- Ability to troubleshoot (with laptop computer), diagnose, understand service manuals, and read schematics.
- Completes records of repairs and notifies proper parties.
- Performs maintenance on bucket trucks, booms trucks, drill rigs, and digger derricks along with other equipment and vehicles.
- Demonstrates precision measurement skills, proper lubrication practices and 12V/24V troubleshooting.
- Ability to troubleshoot and repair mobile equipment hydraulic systems.
- Provide emergency service.
- Performs scheduled preventative maintenance activities on equipment.
- Ability to work in a team environment.
- Performs DOT inspections.
Minimum Requirements:
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience maintaining heavy mobile equipment.
- Experience with performing DOT inspections
- High School Diploma/GED preferred, or vocational training preferred.
- Must be able to work long hours and overtime during holidays, emergencies, weekends, etc. Subject to call out work.
- Must be able to wear PPE as necessary.
- Must be able to maintain attention during dangerous tasks.
- Must have a valid Driver’s License and medical DOT card.
- Must pass a background check and pass a motor vehicle records check
